Knesset Speaker Yuli-Yoel Edelstein asked Temple Mount activist Yehuda Glick, Friday afternoon, to stop his second hunger strike of recent months for next week's Passover holiday. Glick has gone without food to protest the refusal by authorities to allow him to go up to the holy site.
Agreeing to take part in Monday evening's festive Seder meal, Glick said he would think about the rest of the holiday although he tended away from eating. He added that it was in the power of the authorities to end the hunger strike completely, and not just for the holiday. Edelstein recalled how he broke from a hunger strike in a Russian prison for Hanukah. He promised to use his influence with the police and if that didn't work, he would meet with Glick after the holiday.
