Former President’s Request to Go Home for Holiday Denied

Former President Moshe Katzav’s request to be temporarily released from prison in order to celebrate the Passover holiday with his family has been denied.

The judge presiding over Katzav’s case claimed that allowing Katzav to be temporarily released would violate the principle that all inmates are equal, especially since he was allowed out last month.

As you remember, Katzav was convicted of rape and is to serve 7 years in prison for his actions.
