Tel-Aviv Man Kills Friend to Avoid Paying Debt

Tel-Aviv District Attorneys indicted Erez Shmiel, a 40-year-old Tel-Aviv resident on charges of murder and obstruction of justice.

This morning’s (Thursday) indictment proceedings stipulated that the accused loaned Meir Levi 300,000 Shekels. Last month, instead of repaying the debt, Shmiel allegedly murdered Levi while both were intoxicated.

In addition, Shmiel is accused of obstructing justice by means of asking a fellow inmate to give false testimony on his behalf.
