Zim Workers Petition against Company’s Requirements

Employees of Zim, one of the world’s largest shipping services, have set out in protest and 800 management workers in Haifa and in the ports have abandoned their stations.

The employees are protesting the company’s new requirement to forego the golden share held by the State of Israel.

The workers union claims that foregoing the share, “Is likely to lead to the end of the company’s activities in Israel, as well as to many layoffs.”
