Unkosher Meat Found at Certifed Ashdod Kosher Butcher

The Chief Rabbinate's department of enforcement against kashrut fraud raided the Ben Shabbat butcher shop in Ashdod, Tuesday morning, in response to reports that the owner was secretly running an operation to sell unkosher meat. Rabbi Rafi Yohai of the Chief Rabbinate's enforcement department told Arutz Sheva that his staff, accompanied by a unit from the Ministry of Agriculture, discovered huge amounts of unkosher meat at the site, which the Agriculture Ministry workers began to destroy.

Rabbi Yohai said until now, the store has carried the kashrut certification of the Ashdod rabbinate, which was cancelled in the wake of the raid. He said that customers of the store should ask their rabbis what to do with utensils they used to cook, prepare and serve meat from the store.
