Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Monday morning trading with modest losses. About 45 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,295.02, down .24 percent, while the TA 100 declined .26 percent to 1,296.05, the same percentage loss meaning a posting of 1,417.53 for the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,086.83, down .16 percent.
The bright spot was the real-estate index, which rose .19 percent to 402.99 while the oil and natural-gas issues stood at 1,363.03, up. 02 percent. The insurance stocks slipped .02 percent to 1,556.90 as the financial institutions stood at 1,300.63, down .21 percent, the same percentage fall meaning a posting of 1,338.96 for the bank index. The communications issues went down .19 percent to 799.28 while most of the technology stocks stood at 354.99, down .49 percent, and the biomed index slumped .92 percent to 1,112.46.
