Man Who Refused to Divorce for 14 Years Finally Agrees

Three months ago, agencies affiliated with Israel’s Rabbinical Court were made aware of a man who had refused his wife a religious divorce for 14 years and was now about to visit Israel and celebrate his son’s marriage.

The man was arrested immediately following his son’s wedding, and was brought before the High Rabbinical Court.

A number of days later, the ‘get’ (religious divorce decree) was in the woman’s hands.

Rabbi Eliyahu Mimon of the ‘Chained Women’ Department of the High Rabbinical Court responded to the event: “This year, she will lean at the Passover table as a free woman.”
