US Sees Increase in Vaccine Refusal

Experts have revealed that a growing proportion of Americans opt not to vaccinate their children, preferring to let them battle contagious diseases themselves than play host to weakened strains of those same diseases.

The experts note that vaccine hesitancy has become increasingly common, and not only among infants and children.

A growing number of adults have also chosen not to be vaccinated, particularly in the case of the HPV (Human papillomavirus) vaccine, thought to prevent certain strains of cervical cancer.
