Member of Knesset Ofir Akuni (Likud Beytenu) attacked Chairman Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority (PA), Thursday evening, following the publication of new PA demands from Israel - including the freeing of 1,200 terrorists - for the continuation of diplomatic talks. Also demanded were a commitment to a PA state with Jerusalem as its capital and the lifting of the blockade on Gaza.
Akunis said, "Abu Mazen's [another name for Abbas -ed.] delirious demands demand a serious examination since it appears he has lost touch with reality." Saying the United States has experienced what Israel has dealing with for decades, he added, "Breaking up the talks by the Palestinians is nothing less than spitting in the face of the U.S.A."
