Shekel Up, Dollars Outpace Yen, Euro, Pound

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .276 percent, Thursday, against the other currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.472, down .086 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro declined .346 percent to 4.775 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at 5.7584 shekels, down .418 percent, while 100 Japanese yen fell .325 percent to NIS 3.3397. The Australian dollar was fixed at NIS 3.2061, down .218 percent, while its Canadian counterpart slipped .057 percent to 3.1512 shekels. The Swedish krona was set at NIS .5325, down 1.022 percent, and the South African rand declined .275 percent to .3258 shekels.
