Contractor Hid Income by Cashing Checks at Money Changer

Israel’s Tax Authority is in the midst of a relentless and unforgiving battle against members of the construction and real estate industry suspected of committing tax fraud.

A 26-year-old contractor from northern Israel was released from jail on bail after having been arrested for allegedly omitting income of roughly 1 million Shekels from his yearly tax reports by cashing his paychecks at a money changer instead of directly depositing them into his bank account.
