Turkish Police Waterbomb Rioters outside Local Electoral Council

Turkish police officials fired water cannons at thousands of protestors outside of the capital’s Supreme Electoral Council, in an attempt to disperse those furious at the results of a most recent local election.

Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan's Islamist-rooted AK Party kept control of the two biggest cities, Istanbul and Ankara, which aided his electoral win this past Sunday.

The crowd, shouting “Thief Tayyip” demanded a recount of the allegedly corrupted Ankara result.
