Yachimovich: Holyland Case a Win for the Justice System

Member of Knesset Shelly Yachimovich reacted, Monday morning, to the corruption conviction of former prime minister Ehud Olmert in the Holyland real-estate case by saying Olmert repeatedly used his power and connections for decades in order to get rich and repeatedly escaped justice.

Yachimovich also said, "Unfortunately, he climbed to lead the country. It's painful and dangerous that such a corrupt man ruled our lives, but today Israeli citizens should be proud that despite the money, the connections, and the power exerted on all elements of the rule of law, we act as a clean democracy where everyone is equal before the law, and justice is seen and done."
