Shekel, Yen Up - Dollar, Pound, Euro Down

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .132 percent Friday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.498, down .171 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro declined .274 percent to 4.8088 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at 5.8145 shekels, down .199 percent, while 100 Japanese yen slipped .047 percent to NIS 3.4236. The Canadian dollar was fixed at NIS 3.1796, up .662 percent, while its Australian counterpart rose .21 percent to 3.2123 shekels, and the South African rand gained .641 percent to .3295 shekels.
