Four soldiers were disciplined, Thursday, as a panel of the Israel Defense Forces submitted is findings in the death of Captain Tal Nahman, who was killed by friendly fire near the Gaza security fence. The direct cause was listed as a case of mistaken identity. Another finding was that the soldiers involved were not properly prepared for the operation, among other failures in the planning and execution of the operation.
The soldier who pulled the trigger was removed from combat. A sergeant in the force was removed from command but allowed to continue in combat roles. The company commander was dismissed from future command roles. The battalion commander was relieved of a command role but allowed to return in the future.
