Zaken Recordings Lead to New Probe of Olmert

It was disclosed, Thursday evening, that former prime minister Ehud Olmert was being investigated on suspicion of obstruction of justice in connection with the Holyland corruption case, which involves approval of a Jerusalem land development which appeared headed for rejection while Olmert was mayor of the city. The probe was launched in light of recordings submitted by Olmert's former office manager, Shula Zaken, under a plea bargain that will see her serve 11 months in prison for her role in the case. She will also give additional testimony.
