Residents of Ariel complained that harassment by Arabs on buses continues despite electoral promises. Karen Koffler-Barco, a resident of Ariel, is leading a campaign to raise awareness of the situation. She complained that the issue received coverage during the mayoral election campaign but has since been ignored. Koffler-Barco described numerous non-Israeli citizens passing through Ariel crowding onto the Israeli bus lines to reach alternative destinations. "In the afternoon the bus is packed," She stated. "Soldiers and the elderly have no place to sit. They have arguments with soldiers, laugh and swear in Arabic and bully girls," she added. Koffler-Barco called for more bus lines to be added.
