Activists Compensated for Gimmick "Price Tag" Signs

Courts awarded the Binyamin Residents Committee 2,200 shekels in compensation for signs that were confiscated by the police. Over a year ago the Binyamin Residents Committee posted signs encouraging drivers to practice road safety. The campaign, meant to be a satire on the "price tag" graffiti phenomenon, consisted of road sign shaped like tombstones with the words "price tag" in Hebrew and Arabic.

The signs were confiscated by the police as part of an investigation of suspected price tag vandals, but then never returned to the Residents Committee.
