Japanese to Forfeit Nuclear Material to U.S. Government

An agreement has been signed by Japanese and American governments, attesting to a consensus to eliminate hundreds of kilograms of nuclear material from Japanese territory and possession.

CNN.com reported of a statement released by the White House, claiming that the materials will be “fully converted into less sensitive forms.”

The White House’s statement further explicated that this would “continue improving global nuclear security.”
