Costly Restoration of Sheikh Badr Cemetery Complete

Two million Shekels later, the Sheikh Badr Jewish cemetery (also called Givat Ram cemetery) has been restored and renovated by the Religious Building Management of the city of Jerusalem. The project entailed the erection of hundreds of new headstones, the cleaning and re-writing of roughly 1,000 headstones, a general renovation of 142 headstones, as well as the setting up of new fencing, among others.

The restoration will benefit the cemetery’s many visitors, as the location has become an increasingly popular burial site in the past few years for those desiring a final resting place within the holy city of Jerusalem.
