President Shim'on Peres called, Tuesday, on the sides in the Foreign Ministry strike to resume mediation efforts. Speaking at a swearing-in ceremony for judges, the former foreign minister said, "The strike by the employees at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a cause of great concern to the country, to its citizens, to our foreign relations and to the employees themselves who have done crucial work. For the past seven months there is a mediation process between the workers and the finance ministry led by [retired labor court] Judge [Steve] Adler. I know Judge Adler and he is a man of integrity. I call upon the sides to put faith in Judge Adler and empower him to find an urgent solution."
