Foreign Minister, Former Deputy at Odds on Strike


Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman attacked, Sunday, the announcement by his ministry's employees that they would go on strike in Israel and abroad on Monday. Saying the strike would only hurt the workers, he said,  "I'm sorry that these irresponsible steps come at the expense of the citizens of the country, while negotiating with the Ministry of Finance and the process of , led by an agreed-upon mediator...."

Former deputy foreign minister Danny Ayalon, the victim of a falling out with Liberman before the last elections, wrote on his Facebook page, "As a ministry pensioner, former ambassador of Israel in the United States and deputy foreign minister, I support the struggle of the diplomats. They are the soldiers of Israel in the international politicial arena."
