Ronald Kimeli Kurgat is the winner of the 2014 Jerusalem Marathon. The 28-year-old Kenyan posted a new record of two hours, 16 minutes and nine seconds. Second place went to 24-year-old Patrick Wachira Muriuki, who finished 26 seconds later. Finishing third was 37-year-old Luka Kipkemoi Chelimo with a time of 02:18:08.
With a number of runners out on the streets as of 11:00 on Friday, 37 needed medical attention, including a 20-year-old who was hospitalized in serious condition for heat stroke.
