Shekel, US Dollar Up - Pound Outpaces Yen, Euro

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .001 percent, Thursday, against the other currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.484, up .635 from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro declined .394 percent to 4.7982 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at 5.7519 shekels, down .079 percent, while 100 Japanese yen fell .217 percent to NIS 3.3998. The Canadian dollar was fixed at NIS 3.0919, down .219 percent, while its Australian counterpart slumped .596 percent to 3.1378 shekels. The Norwegian krone was set at .5738 shekels, down 1.035, and the South African rand plunged 1.548 percent to NIS .3179.
