Revered Rabbi Calls for Non-Violent Protests

Hundreds of students of Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach demonstrated on Wednesday against arrest of a yeshiva student who was accused of not registering for the draft. The student was arrested and incarcerated on Purim. Rabbi Auerbach asked his students to refrain from any type of violence and not to confront the police. Rabbi Auerbach is the head of a prestigious yeshiva in Jerusalem and on the board of a noted rabbinical council. He is the son of the revered Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach.
