Finance Minister Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid), accepted the resignation of Dr. Michael Sarel, the head of the Ministry's Economics and State Revenues Administration on Wednesday. He thanked Sarel, calling him professional and reliable. Lapid said he regretted his decision to leave and wished him much success in the future. Sarel quit his position on Wednesday over Lapid's proposal to give young couples with children a tax break on buying a first apartment. Sarel called the idea "wrong from almost every possible perspective," adding that he disagreed with numerous other things Lapid proposed.
