Campaign: Don't Text While Driving

The Transportation Ministry and the National Authority for Road Safety announced, Monday, the start of a public-awareness campaign against sending text messages while driving. According to the authority's figures, distraction from cellular phones is the most widespread and dangerous.

Public affairs programs and documentaries will address the issue on days when Keshet has the Channel 2 Television franchise, as will spots on Israel Defense Forces Radio and its Galgalatz station dedicated to motorists. The mako Website will dedicate space to the matter and so will social networks on the Internet. Police will increase enforcement and the various government and private groups will address the issue.
