Police Confirm Massacre in Central Nigeria

Nigerian police confirmed, Sunday, raids that took place on Friday night in the Christian villages of Ugwar Sankwai, Ungwan Gata and Chenshyi, in Kaduna state. Other officials said that at least 100 villagers were killed in the attacks.

Residents blamed heavily armed members of the mainly Muslim Fulani tribe. Officials say the ethnic violence was related to land and religion and not to the Al-Qaeda-linked Boko Haram group operating in the northern part of the country.
