Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon eulogized Meir Har Tzion, Friday, by calling him "one of the greatest fighters in the history of the army, a bold and extraordinary commander, whose influence on designing generations of soldiers and units was decisive. An officer of extraordinary courage, who expressed in battle his rare abilities as a fighter and was part of a select few who built and designed the best army units."
Ya'alon continued, "Meir Har-Zion was always there, at the head of the fighters. He always strove for contact and led his troops with his high patrol and fighting skills.... Generations of fighters grew and will grow on the stories about Meir Har-Zion, on the great creativity he displayed and the daring he exhibited on the battlefield."
