Report: Hamas Government in Serious Economic Trouble

The Hamas regime in Gaza has been hit by its worst economic crisis it since seized control of Gaza seven years ago, according to a Thursday report by the Associated Press.

According to the report, the organization is facing growing criticism, even from the base of its support, because there is no sign of easing the siege on Gaza imposed by Israel and Egypt. Hamas government employees complain that they have received partial salaries the last four months, bus drivers went on strike because of rising fuel prices and Hamas opinion polls suggest that the organization's popularity is on a steady decline.
