Shekel, US Dollar, Yen Down - Pound Outpaces Euro

The official value of the shekel declined an average of .191 percent, Thursday, against most of the foreign currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.465, down .173 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro rose .434 percent to 4.8348.

The pound sterling was set at 5.7857 shekels, up .516 percent, while 100 Japanese yen declined .08 percent to NIS 3.3766. The Australian dollar was fixed at NIS 3.1393, up 1.202 percent, while its Canadian counterpart advanced .288 percent to 3.1293 shekels. The Norwegian krone was set at .5858 shekels, up .965 percent, and the South African rand climbed 1.385 percent to NIS .3221.
