Torah Group to Present Book of Esther in Sign Language

The Garin Torani (Torah core group) in the city of Herzliya will hold a special reading of the Scroll of Esther, which is read on Purim, accompanied by a sign language translation for the hard of hearing.

The idea was born after the group heard of an initiative whereby the Scroll of Esther is presented in pantomime. Upon hearing of this idea, the head of the Herzliya Garin Torani, Tzahi Weiss, suggested that it be taken a step further and that the reading of the Scroll be accompanied by sign language. This, he told Arutz Sheva on Wednesday, will allow the hearing impaired, including the elderly, to be active participants in the reading.
