MK Elkin: Referendum Law Means No More Mitsubishi Deals

Deputy Foreign Minister Zeev Elkin (Likud Beytenu), welcomed the approval of the referendum bill Wednesday evening. "No more 'Mitsubishi' deals," MK Elkin stated, referencing the 1995 Oslo II accords with the PA. "This law will further protect the land of Israel if G-d forbid anyone thinks to cede part of our homeland," he added.

There is widespread belief that the 1995 Oslo II accords which relinquished land to the Palestinian Authority passed the Knesset by only one vote because one MK was offered a lucrative governmental post which included a Mitsubishi-model vehicle in exchange for his vote.
