The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started Monday-morning trading with modest losses in mixed trading. About half an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,268.59, down .05 percent from Sunday's close, while the TA 100 slipped .06 percent to 1,265.53, including a drop of .14 percent to 1,361.41 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,104.87, up .18 percent.
Leading the gainers was the real-estate index, which rose .45 percent to 395.57. The biomed index stood at 1,173.85, up .23 percent, while the rest of the technology stocks were virtually unchanged at 368.55. The insurance index edged up .06 percent to 1,523.55 as the financial institutions stood at 1,254.88, down .04 percent, the same percentage loss meaning a posting of 1,277.20 for the bank issues. The oil and natural-gas stocks stood at 1,279.65, down .05 percent, and the communications index declined .45 percent to 724.28.
