An estimated 1,500 Israelis and other Jews in the New York City area took part, Sunday, in an Aliyah [immigration to Israel -ed.] Fair in the city's Times Square. They met with representatives of the Nefesh B'Nefesh program, which has helped thousands immigrate, primarily from North America, as well as representatives of the Immigration and Absorption Ministry, the Jewish National Fund, local Israeli governments and other institutions.
Emphasis was placed on programs for settling the Galilee and the Negev. The fair was one of six to take place in the United States and Canada. More than 50,000 people have attended Nefesh B'Nefesh fairs and seminars and the organization has brought more than 38,000 to live in Israel.
