Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange ended the first day of tthe trading week, Sunday, with modest to moderate losses. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,269.25, down .55 percent from Thursday's close, while the TA 100 declined .53 percent to 1,266.32, including a drop of .43 percent to 1,363.38 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,102.83, down .36 percent.
On the positive side, the oil and natural-gas index rose three tenths of a percent to 1,280.32, while the bank issues stood at 1,277.74, up .12 percent, as the financial institutions slipped .04 percent to 1,255.44, including a loss of .68 percent to 1,522.61 by the insurance stocks. The real-estate index closed at 393.81, down .01 percent, and the biomed issues slumped nine tenths of a percent to 1,171.19, while the rest of the technology stocks stood at 368.56, down 1.24 percent, and the communications index fell 1.03 percent to 727.56.
