Addtional NIS 300 Million Allocated to Holocaust Survivors

Finance Minister Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid) has ordered the Ministry to immediately resolve the issue of Holocaust survivors who immigrated to Israel after October 1, 1953 to be comparable to the allowance provided to concentration camp and ghetto surivors who immigrated before that date.

Approximately 18,500 people will be eligible for the new benefits package, which will include an increase in the monthly grant, determined by the amount of disability that resulted from Nazi persecution. There is also additional medical care coverage for those diseases and conditions that can be attributed to the war years, as well.

In addition, compensation will be provided for 36 months to the remaining  party, following the death of his/her spouse.
