Police, in conjunction with the National Fraud Unit, uncovered equipment used to manufacture fake mezuzah scrolls. The handwritten parchments contain verses from the Torah and are affixed to the doorposts of one's home. Authentic scrolls are intricately checked by a rabbi. An apartment in Ashkelon was found to have such equipment as a computer, a scanner, stamps, cards, a card cutting machine, a high quality printer and a large portion of printer scrolls. An investigation is ongoing.
