The Olam Haba events collective is once again planning a Purim parade and party for Jerusalem. The group of young religiously oriented Jerusalem residents will host a Purim party on the roof of the Mamilla outdoor shopping promenade on Sunday evening March 16th. Music will be provided by Dvir Cohen Eraki, an Israeli singer from a family of Yemenite Jewish cantors who gained recognition with such groups as the Madboojah Project and Diwan HaLev. Also performing will be G-Nome Project, a "livetronica" jam band from Gush Etzion and Jerusalem. Artists are invited to decorate during the event. A Purim costume contest will be sponsored by Trumpeldor vintage clothing.
Olam Haba is also planning a Purim parade in the Nachlaot neighborhood of Jerusalem on Sunday in addition to a mishoach manot food and charity distribution drive that will support needy Jerusalem residents. On the Shabbat immediately preceding Purim, the group will join others in planning a massive open Shabbat lunch on the light rail train tracks on Jaffa Road. For more information click here.
