Officials from Judea and Samaria told the Knesset subcommittee on the region, Tuesday that buses used for transporting children had safety issues. Speaking at a hearing on reinforcing the buses against attacks, Deputy Chairman Moshe Saville of the Gush Etzion Regional Council told the panel that the region's buses were old, a message echoed by Dov Diener of the Binyamin Regional Council.
Money from the 2011 budget to address the anti-attack protection has never been transferred because of a disagreement between the Treasury and the Defense Ministry. Shomron (Samaria) Regional Council Director Gershon Mesika said that a scandal and called on the sides to resolve their differences in order to enable the transfer. The subcommittee scheduled another meeting on the matter.
