The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started Tuesday-morning trading with modest to moderate gains. Around 11:30 a.m., the TA Composite Index stood at 1,268.60, up .89 percent, while the TA 100 rose .92 percent to 1,264.82, including a gain of one percent to 1,361.05 for the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,106.60, up .63 percent.
Leading the gainers was the insurance index, which climbed 1.29 percent to 1,517.06 as the financial institutions stood at 1,250.96, up 1.12 percent, while the bank issues advanced 1.22 percent to 1,276.26. Most of the technology stocks stood at 373.39, up 1.06 percent, while the biomed index gained .98 percent to 1,178.40. The real-estate issues stood at 391.76, up three quarters of a percent, followed by the oil and natural-gas stocks, which rose a tenth of a percent to 1,272.68, and the communications index, which stood at 747.44, up .02 percent.
