Israel Removed from Intellectual Property 'Black List'

The office of the United States Trade Representative announced, Sunday, that Israel has been removed from the "black list" of countries that do not adequately protect intellectual property rights.

The process that led to the move started with a document of understanding between Israel and the U.S., following negotiations handled by an interoffice team from the Justice Ministry with representatives from the  Ministries of Health, Finance and Economy. Implementation of the agreement was made through amendments to the patents law and pharmacy regulations, the last of which passed the final readings in the Knesset in January.
