'Mother' of Alzheimer's Drug to Receive Israel Prize

Education Minister Shai Piron announced, Thursday, that Professor Marta Weinstock-Rosin of the Hebrew University's pharmacy school has won the 5774 (2013-2014) Israel Prize for medical research.

Dubbed by Jewish Business News as the "mother" of Exelon, a drug used to treat symptoms of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, members of the awards committee noted that Professor Weinstock-Rosin has been investigating drug therapies for degenerative diseases of the central nervous system for many years.
