MK Chetboun Calls for Both Civility and Jewish Identity

Member of Knesset Yoni Chetboun (Jewish Home) simultaneously called for both civility and a halt to what he called "the onslaught of legislation on religion." Speaking at the Knesset plenum Wednesday, he appealed to the Yesh Atid party lamenting "an increasing desire of the members of the coalition to blur the Jewish identity of Israel." He mentioned the wave of new bill submitted calling for redefining of Jewish marriage, rabbinical courts, kashrut certification and other matters.

However he added, "we need to stop and think about how to work together." MK Chetboun also lamented the recent controversial comments of United Torah Judaism and Shas stating, "take responsibility for your words."
