Students at the Homesh Hamithadeshet (Renewing Homesh) yeshiva in Homesh spotted an improvised explosive device, Monday, hidden in a pile of rocks at the entrance to the uprooted northern Samaria Jewish community. It was apparently placed there to harm a patrol of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) or one of the civilian vehicles that enter the site every day.
The boys left the site and reported the find immediately to the IDF. Large forces of soldiers responded, including sappers who disposed of the device in a controlled manner. An extensive search was made of the area to make sure there were no other explosives and to trace the attackers. It is not known if arrests have been made.
