Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Netanyahu to Determine Likud Convention Agenda

The Supreme Court in Jerusalem today (Monday) ruled in favor of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in his court battle with Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon. According to the ruling Netanyahu can determine the agenda at the next Likud Convention, which is scheduled to be held in Tel Aviv this coming March 23.

However, three of the justices - Elykam Rubenstein, Yoram Danzinger and Yitzhak Amit, ruled that Deputy Minister Danon, too, may present an alternative agenda proposal at the convention.  Should Danon succeed, then he will be able to pass proposals which oppose territorial concessions, and prevent them from merging with Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman's Yisrael Beytenu party.
