The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started the trading week, Sunday, with modest gains in mixed trading. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,229.06, up .06 percent, while the same percentage index meant a posting of 1,226.10 for the TA 100, despite a drop of .15 percent to 1,321.68 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,070.25, up .12 percent.
Leading the gainers was the real-estate index, which rose .44 percent to 378.75, followed by the biomed index, which stood at 1,144.05, up four tenths of a percent, and the rest of the technology stocks, which advanced an average of .22 percent to 357.03. The insurance index edged up .02 percent to 1,425.22 as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,197.36, reflecting a loss of .99 percent to 1,229.23 by the bank issues. The oil and natural-gas stocks slipped .06 percent to 1,272.01 and the communications index closed at 739.89, down .91 percent.
