Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Named Acting President

The Ukrainian parliament voted, Sunday, to appoint speaker Aleksandr Turchinov as acting president of the country. Russia Today reports the appointment comes a day following Turchinov's election to the position of speaker, after Vladimir Rybak resigned the position when the opposition took control of the legislature. Turchinov's authority is expected to last until elections scheduled for May.
