The official value of the shekel rose an average of .163 percent, Friday, against the other currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.51, down .199 from Thursday's rate, while the Euro declined .197 percent to 4.8108 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at 5.8499, down .137 percent, while 100 Japanese yen fell .557 percent to NIS 3.4271. The Australian dollar advanced .019 percent to NIS 3.1592 while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at 3.1496 shekels, down .799 percent. The Swedish krona lost .613 percent to .5347 shekels and the South African rand was fixed at NIS .3183, up .315 percent.
