Interior Minister Gid'on Sa'ar participated, Friday in the annual march by Jewish residents of the Jordan Valley. Speaking at the starting point, he said, "We are here with a clear and simple statement - the Jordan Valley is Israeli! We are here to strengthen the settlers of the valley, who do a mission for all of Israel. They should know that the settlement enterprise in the Jordan Valley will remain and thrive for generations to come."
Sa'ar continued, "Israel's security requires strategic depth. It is impossible to think that the border will not be in the valley. The alternative is that the border will be in Kfar Sava and Netanya, and that's unacceptable. Therefore, your presence here is important. It is important to remember - There's no military presence without the settlement enterprise. Where there is settlement, the Israel Defense Forces are to be found. When there is no settlement - there's no security and there is terrorism."
